![]() 45 minutes later we walked out 165 bucks poorer. Had to order a couple large fry baskets since everything is a la carte.again, generic style fries bought from their Gordon foods supplier that tasted like grocery store Orerida. Horsey sauce on the side tasted like plain sour cream. Mahi tacos.these were stuffed a mile high with pico to hide the fact there was barely any bland fish inside. 21 dollar mahi sandwich came on an appetizer sized roll.(and on a big plate- not a nice presentation at all). Chips tasted like bagged grocery store chips (the generic brand) Got only about a handful.asked for more chips after we plowed through them in literally 2 minutes and they brought us another handful. (throw me a bone would ya?) Ordered some chips and salsa. (who spit in her soup?) Entrees come with nothing.not even a couple tablespoons of slaw in a little paper cup. area near at the bar and she obliged but never cracked a smile. Moreīeen here several times and it's way overrated! Went for my birthday and the unfriendly hostess began taking us back to the afterthought add on room in the back that has the atmosphere of my garage. Still, NB is a waterfront town with lots of tourists, so you expect a mark-up, and I'm not sure if Michigan sales tax is higher than Indiana's. The food was Burgerhaus quality (a favorite burger place in Valpo and Munster), but just a bit more expensive. I would definitely consider coming here again in the summer. And it is definitely better food than the sushi place in town, which rots, despite the cute Kawaii decorations. I've been to Oinks and the "burgers with the ugly-faced guy" before, but I like Stray Dog's atmosphere better than both of those touristy spots. My friend also loved the turkey pastrami, & took about half home, as it was huge for a sandwich. I loved the 3 sliders - spicy and delicious cheese on top. It was 1 pm Michigan time when we got there, and many tables & booths were filled, but the food came out quickly. But it was no hassle at all to the staff. We got seated by the fireplace, because it was a cooler day, and we didn't want the high tops. Our waitress was friendly and did a great job. We also ordered small fries ($3) to go with the meals, which didn't come with any sides. diet coke, she a real coke, and both of those were $3 each. She got the turkey pastrami club ($17) I got the spicy bacon sliders ($17), but both were specials for the day. My friend paid over $54 dollars (with < a 20% tip) for the 2 of us to have lunch last week.
